I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
