Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
